Internship Opportunity - Primary Teacher

Naivasha Children’s Shelter is seeking to fill the position of a primary teacher intern as detailed below;

Job title: Primary Teacher Intern

Reporting line: Director

Purpose

To ensure the educational success and assist in the rehabilitation of street-connected children.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  1. Administer academic assessments to all incoming street-connected students to assess their level of academic capability.

  2. Preparing lesson plans and notes.

  3. Teaching street-connected students according to their educational needs in an informal setting.

  4. Assessing, recording and reporting on the development, progress and attainment of students.

  5. Create and maintain relationships with stakeholders in a professional manner.

  6. Perform any other duties assigned by the Director.

 

Minimum Requirements and experience

  • Certificate in primary teacher (ECDE as an added advantage)

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Team player
