Naivasha Children’s Shelter is seeking to fill the position of a general worker as detailed below;

Job title: General Worker

Reporting line: Child Welfare Officer

Purpose: General worker will be responsible for maintaining the shamba, care for the animals within the Shelter, and

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

Harvest and inspect crops by hand.
Irrigate farm soil and maintain ditches or pipes and pumps.
Operate and service and tools.
Use of natural methods to solutions to control insects, fungi, and weeds.
Feed livestock and clean and disinfect their pens, cages, yards and hutches.
Examine animals to detect symptoms of illnesses or injuries and administer vaccines to protect animals from diseases.
Train street-connected children in gardening and care for animals.
Cook healthy, and nutritious meals for up to 50 children.
Other duties as directer by supervisor

Minimum Requirements and experience

Experience working in agriculture
Ability to work nights and weekends.
Desire to work with street-connected children.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
