Shelter Yetu has a leadership model focused on shared leadership. Our leadership team, consisting of two volunteer Co-Executive Directors and our Director, works together to accomplish what none of us could not accomplish alone.

EUnice Murage
Co-Executive director

Eunice Murage has been working with street children since 2007. In 2010, Kristen and Eunice began working on the streets together until coming to Shelter Yetu in 2014. Eunice volunteers as Co-Executive Director of the Shelter while she works full time as a risk management consultant in Nairobi. She lives in Nairobi with her husband and children.

Kristen lowry
CO-Executive director

Kristen Lowry serves in a volunteer capacity as Co-Executive Director of Shelter Yetu, where she finds deep joy in seeing children healed and restored and thriving in healthy, loving families.

In addition, she serves as International Orphan Care Consultant for Send Relief, the relief and development arm of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Kristen lives outside of Nairobi with her husband, Daniel, and their children.

DANIEL WAHOME
DIRECTOR

Daniel serves as our director, and oversees the day-to-day operation of the Shelter. He has been at the Shelter for more than a decade, where he has also overseen the educational curriculum, served as a house parent and also taught in the classroom.

"I feel motivated to see the life of kids changing. The part that encourages me most is finding a boy who had lost hope for education and then is able to go back to school. Witnessing a boy changing from street boy to a graduate in different field gives me strength to work harder."
